I did a series of floral iPhoneography images. ‘{ Hydrangea }’ workflow is the second and final one being shared from that series. The iPhoneography workflow for ‘{ rose }’ has already been shared.

The gallery containing all five images is linked at the foot of this post. If you have a minute, please take a look before you leave.

I have to admit that I enjoy floral images. Readers of some of my other workflows on the subject will realise that this is something it’s taken me a while to come to terms with. I still see my focus as non-documentary style street shots loading atmosphere through post processing. I am however, very happy to shoot anything and play with apps. For me, floral shots lend themselves to this style of processing and I enjoy it.

ProCamera ~ Initial capture:

Filterstorm ~ Crop (note Filterstorm is my preferred app for cropping because it also resizes with good quality if necessary):

Snapseed ~ Drama filter (standard settings) + 3 selective adjust points added:

Snapseed ~ Grunge:

Modern Grunge ~ quite subtle use of filters applied to taste. This app is capable of serious grunge including rip and cut effects:

As with ScratchCam, if you create an effect you like save it as a bespoke texture for use on other images. This texture has become a favourite of mine:
